History

I began grooming mother earth in my early teens, working for my Dad running farm tractors and heavy equipment. In the first 10 years, I also ran farm equipment and heavy equipment for other farms and constructions companies and then returned to Dad’s company for 15 years as a working foreman. For 26 years, I had worked the land for other people. On July 1, 2001, I decided to go it alone and have been doing so ever since. Our 5th anniversary, July 1, 2006, gives me a total of 31 years experience in this field. One thing I have learned is smooth and steady is much more productive in the end than fast and jerky.

We started with 2 lawn mowers, 2 chain-saws, a tractor with a box blade, a bush-hog, a builder’s level and some hand tools. In the beginning we rented our large equipment or any other equipment that we didn’t have. During our first two years we bought several more chain-saws and a dump truck, and were blessed with a full time employee "Cal". In the third year we purchased a front-end loader with a root rake and a bucket. Since then our work has called for more equipment, and we have purchased another front-end loader with forks, grapple and a bucket, a small excavator with a thumb, another dump truck, and a tree spade for our large loader.

We don’t strive to be the biggest. We like the hands on approach and hope to continue making a living doing specialty work for our customers. We enjoy solving problems and molding the parts of the earth that we are fortunate enough to work with.

Mission

Our mission is to find customers who appreciate good workmanship and who realize that much of what we do in not just cut and dried or mundane, but an art form, a style. It is something to be appreciated and admired, not rushed and shortcut. These days too many people are of the mindset that the bottom dollar is all that matters. We like to think that it is better to go the extra mile, to think the extra thought. It is a job we love. It is not a science but and art. It is not rigid but fluid. We like to blend natural landscape to new landscape. We like to use curves and fluid lines as opposed to abrupt angles and sharpness. We find it is better to be careful and smooth rather than thoughtless and jerky.

Although we use standard methods when appropriate and sometimes our work does call for a cut and dried routine approach, we look forward to the opportunity to mold and sculpt the earth in a more unconventional manner. Specialty jobs and out of the ordinary work is where we shine. We find problem solving to be rewarding. Riddles of the land and past attempts at forcing changes to nature often leave problems to be solved.  They can be frustrating, but once solved are rewarding to both us and our customers. Problem drainage issues are interesting to us. We hope this gives our readers some insight into our mission.

Thanks for the opportunities.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
